We need your help in getting the word out about this Call to Action for the Arts. We need as many people as possible to Rise Up for San Diego’s Penny for the Arts. The proposed arts funding cuts in the City of San Diego will have detrimental impact throughout the region, including the South Bay. Please send out to everyone you that you know and ask that as many people as possible attend the Rise Up for the Arts Rally and San Diego City Council meeting on Monday May 8th 7:30 to 9 am RALLY and 9 am Council Meeting. See below for more details. A press conference is scheduled for 8:30am.
RALLY FOR ARTS AND CULTURE FUNDING #Rise4Arts
San Diego has long been a national leader in its commitment to public funding of the arts, however, the Mayor’s recommendation to cut arts and culture by $4.7 million is over a 31% cut to the Commission for Arts and Culture. This is a massive and unfair cut.
We need to encourage Councilmembers to bring equity to the process and continue their support of arts and culture.
RALLY: Monday, May 8, 2017 – 7:30am to 9:00am
(Prior to City Council Budget Hearing)
